Narayana Health to Acquire UK’s Practice Plus Group Hospitals for £188.78 Million

The all-cash purchase via a UK subsidiary would add a 12-facility platform heavily tied to NHS contracts.

Overview

  • The company will buy 100% of Practice Plus Group Hospitals through Narayana Hrudayalaya UK Ltd, a wholly owned unit of Health City Cayman Islands Ltd.
  • Closing is targeted within six business days of the agreement, subject to completion of customary steps.
  • PPG’s network includes 12 hospitals and surgical centres with roughly 330 beds and specialties spanning orthopaedics, ophthalmology and general surgery.
  • PPG is described as the UK’s fifth-largest private hospital group, performing about 80,000 surgeries a year, with media reporting most revenue comes from NHS contracts.
  • Narayana Health says it will fold PPG into its technology-led operating model as it enters the UK market and moves into the top tier of Indian providers by revenue.
