Overview

  • The 55 km operational section between New Ashok Nagar in Delhi and Meerut South recorded a top speed of 160 km/h with trains running roughly every 15 minutes.
  • Reports position the service ahead of Gatimaan Express and Vande Bharat, which generally operate at 130 km/h following a June 2024 directive.
  • The full corridor spans 82.15 km with 16 stations and is designed for sub‑hour end‑to‑end trips once fully open, according to NCRTC.
  • Meerut Metro trial runs on the 23 km, 13‑station local corridor are complete and will share infrastructure with Namo Bharat to enable seamless transfers.
  • Trainsets were built by Alstom in Savli with safety and automation systems including ATP, ATC and ATO, supporting reliable high‑speed operations.
