Overview

• Twelve survivalists, including franchise alums Steven Lee Hall Jr., Amber Hargrove and Waz Addy, joined nine newcomers for the series launch.
• Competitors must endure 35 days in an apocalyptic South African wasteland teeming with lions, leopards, hyenas and hippos amid the remains of mines, junkyards, cemeteries and ghost towns.
• In a series first, contestants cannot call for extraction and must scavenge wreckage and navigate their own return to civilization.
• The premiere aired July 27 at 8 p.m. ET on the Discovery Channel.
