Overview
- On July 26 the Anti-Human Trafficking Cell raided a flat in Naigaon, Vasai, and arrested three agents allegedly operating the prostitution racket
- Police rescued a minor girl and a 21-year-old woman trafficked from Bangladesh during the operation and placed them in care at a Rescue Foundation center
- FIRs were registered under sections 96, 98, 143(3), 143(4) and 144 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita along with provisions of the POCSO Act and the Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act
- The operation was carried out in partnership with Exodus Road India Foundation and Harmony Foundation under the oversight of Inspector Devidas Handore and Commissioner Niket Kaushik
- Investigators are probing additional accomplices in the cross-border trafficking network exploiting suburban flats in Maharashtra
