Naidu Uses Science Conclave to Champion Epics, Population Push, Ganga–Cauvery Link

From the BVS stage, the Andhra Pradesh chief framed civilizational pride with demography as engines of national power.

Overview

  • The seventh Bharatiya Vigyan Sammelan opened at National Sanskrit University in Tirupati, with RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat and Union minister Jitendra Singh attending alongside Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu.
  • Naidu urged teaching Indian epics to youth, saying Hanuman surpasses Superman and Arjuna outclasses characters like Batman and Iron Man, and invoked Ram Rajya as a model of governance.
  • He praised the RSS for preserving culture, echoed calls for population growth, and, aligning with Bhagwat, suggested couples ideally have three children to sustain national strength.
  • Positioning India as a historic knowledge leader, he cited Harappan urban planning, yoga and Ayurveda, ancient universities such as Takshashila and Nalanda, and contributions like the concept of zero and chess.
  • Arguing for water security, he advocated the National River Linking Project with a focus on the Ganga–Cauvery link and called for inter-state goodwill to implement it.
