Naidu Touts Pro-Farmer Gains With Rapid MSP Payments and Raised Cyclone Aid

Speaking at ANGRAU, the chief minister cast the past year as a turnaround featuring large paddy buys, swift credits, higher cyclone aid, a push for organic methods.

  • In 2024–25, the state procured 55.79 lakh tonnes of paddy worth ₹12,857 crore with money credited to about eight lakh farmers within 24 hours.
  • Each farmer received ₹7,000 under the Annadata Sukhibhava scheme, with officials also citing targeted support for crops such as mango, tobacco, chilli, tomato and onion.
  • The government reported paying 95% of crop insurance dues and increasing cyclone compensation to ₹25,000 per hectare after previously lower payouts.
