Overview
- Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu carried a pair of silk vastrams on a silver plate in a ceremonial procession and handed them to the chief priest inside Tirumala’s sanctum on Tuesday during the Salakatla Brahmotsavams.
- The procession was led by caparisoned elephants, horses and bulls, and priests performed customary rites including Veda aseervachanam, theertha prasadam and distribution of laddus to Naidu and his entourage.
- Naidu was accompanied by his wife N. Bhuvaneswari, son and IT minister Nara Lokesh, and daughter-in-law Nara Brahmini, and TTD officials presented mementos and a portrait of Sri Venkateswara.
- He stayed overnight at Tirumala and is scheduled to inaugurate the Pilgrim Experience Centre, flag off Reliance-donated electric buses and open the modernised SV Museum the following day, followed by a review of TTD operations.
- The visit combined ritual participation with administrative emphasis as Naidu praised TTD’s management, directed steps to preserve Tirumala’s traditions and asked officials to ensure orderly, hassle-free darshan for devotees.
