Naidu Orders Tech-First Overhaul of Andhra Administration at Collectors’ Meet

The move pairs tighter targets with an investment pitch after he detailed heavy inherited debt.

Overview

  • At the 7th District Collectors’ Conference on Thursday, the Chief Minister set a mandate for more than 90% public satisfaction and said every government service must go online by December.
  • He ordered a full cleanup of land and revenue records by March 2027 with zero-error targets and set monthly field-visit quotas for top officials along with performance ratings for ministers and collectors.
  • To frame an economic rebound, he cited State Investment Promotion Board approvals of about ₹23 lakh crore in projects with potential for 24 lakh jobs and pointed to marquee plans such as a Google data centre in Visakhapatnam and a Royal Enfield plant.
  • As fiscal context, he said the state inherited ₹9.74 lakh crore in debt, ₹1.30 lakh crore in pending bills and ₹10,000 crore diverted from 94 central schemes, and he promoted direct benefit transfers to curb leakages in welfare.
  • He launched a Singapore-inspired pilot known as SAGE and greenlit trials on climate‑resilient works, cyber security, rural and digital health, and digital land services, which could speed grievance fixes and cut paperwork for residents.
