Naidu Orders Seven New IIT-NEET Coaching Centres for SC/ST Students in Andhra Pradesh

The push links expanded coaching with cash awards to a goal of quadrupling qualifiers next year.

  • At the Amaravati Secretariat, the chief minister met 55 successful students from social welfare residential schools and presented Rs 1 lakh to each.
  • Officials have been directed to set up seven additional Dr B R Ambedkar IIT-NEET centres this year to serve 1,411 SC/ST students statewide.
  • Existing centres in Kurnool, NTR and Guntur trained 356 students this year, with 129 qualifying in JEE and 143 in NEET.
  • Outcomes reported include 12 IIT admissions, 30 to NITs and 13 MBBS seats, with 14 BDS seats expected and 19 admissions to GFTIs and central universities.
  • Naidu set a target to quadruple the number of qualifiers next year and called for strengthening social welfare institutions and hostels.
