Overview

  • A memorandum of understanding with NITI Aayog and ISEG Foundation establishes a State Energy Transition Roadmap to guide clean energy expansion in the region.
  • Spanning 36,000 sq km and eight districts, the initiative aims to boost current output from $49 billion to $120 billion and create up to 2.4 million jobs by 2032.
  • Officials have identified 41 flagship projects centred on six ports, seven manufacturing nodes, 17 agricultural zones, six service hubs and 12 tourism hubs.
  • The development blueprint includes up to 750,000 housing units, 10,000 hotel rooms, 20 innovation centres, 10 colleges and 7,000 hospital beds.
  • Under the AP Integrated Clean Energy Policy, targets for solar (78.5 GW), wind (35 GW), pumped storage (22 GW), green hydrogen and battery storage have been set for the region.
