- On December 12, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu flew over key works in the Visakhapatnam Economic Region, including Bhogapuram airport, IT sites and tourism projects, after a review with officials.

- Officials reiterated regional targets that include seven new railway projects, nine road projects, a 77 km metro, 12 manufacturing units, four operational ports with two new ports planned, plus 7.5 lakh welfare houses, 10,000 hotel rooms, 5,000 hospital beds, 50 million sq ft of office space and 50,000 acres for industry.
