Overview

• The deceased was identified as Gutta Venkateswarlu, 36, a fertiliser shop owner from Peddaboyapally in Andhra Pradesh, whose children were aged 8, 6, and 4.
• Investigators say he left home with the children after a quarrel on August 30, travelled to Hajipur the next day, killed the two younger ones near Suryatanda, and later killed the elder daughter at Thandra.
• CCTV showed him with all three children in Hajipur and later only with the eight-year-old in Velthur, prompting a seven-kilometre search that led to the recovery of two bodies and the elder child's body in Peddapur.
• Police say he consumed a poisonous substance purchased in Achampet, and his body was found by locals at Burakunta in Veldanda mandal.
• A case was registered at Veldanda police station based on a complaint by his brother, with investigators dating the killings to August 31 and confirming that autopsies and forensic analysis are in progress.
