Overview

• Dip (also reported as Deep) Saikia of Hornbill TV was shot around 4 p.m. on Saturday in Laii village, Senapati district, while reporting on a flower festival.
• He sustained wounds to the armpit and leg, received first aid at Senapati district hospital, and was later shifted to Nagaland for further care.
• Villagers detained a youth suspected to be the shooter and handed him to police, and a pressurised air rifle was recovered at the scene.
