Nagaland Launches 24th Dr. T. Ao Trophy Alongside Major Sports Infrastructure Rollout

  • The 24th Dr. T. Ao Inter-District Football Championship kicked off at Indira Gandhi Stadium in Kohima on August 1 and runs through August 15
  • Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio announced that six astroturf football grounds are now complete in Dimapur, Phek, Mon, Mokokchung, Tuensang and Chümoukedima Rio revealed that 28 futsal courts and 31 multipurpose sports buildings are under construction across the state
  • Under the Chief Minister’s Sports Scholarship, 16 footballers and coaches are receiving local training while two bowlers are undergoing coaching overseas
  • Nagaland will host the newly renamed Dr T Ao National Women’s Junior Football Championship later this year after AIFF approval
