Nagaland CM Inaugurates New Police Officers’ Central Mess and NGOs’ Mess in Chumoukedima
The new facilities support officers as they tackle evolving threats from cybercrime, organised crime, drug trafficking

- Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio presided over the inauguration of the Nagaland Police Officers’ Central Mess and NGOs’ Mess at Chumoukedima, replacing cottages built in the early 1970s
- The Special Assistance to States for Capital Investment 2023-24 scheme contributed Rs 10.50 crore in central funding for both modern mess buildings
- The Officers’ Mess now houses 24 officers and their families while the NGOs’ Mess provides accommodation for 64 non-gazetted personnel with essential amenities
- Rio stressed that effective policing relies on cooperation, mutual respect and the highest standards of professionalism, impartiality and integrity
- The state government pledged ongoing welfare reviews and further investments in infrastructure, technology and training to enhance morale and operational readiness
