- All registration centres will issue seven-day biometric verification certificates via facial recognition from January 20, 2026, for a nominal fee.
- The feature is already available in the Pak‑ID mobile app, with direct in‑app verification planned after the formal Digital ID launch.
- If fingerprint checks fail at a service provider, citizens will have a new photo taken at a NADRA centre, matched to records, then receive a certificate with their photo, ID number, name, father’s name, tracking ID and a QR code.
- Regulators and service providers have been asked to upgrade systems in phases, beginning with software integration and later adding cameras at service counters for on‑site acceptance.
