Naby Keïta Loaned to Ferencváros After Suspension from Werder Bremen

The former Champions League winner joins the Hungarian club after a tumultuous stint in Germany marked by limited playtime and disciplinary issues.

Naby Keïta, a 29-year-old Guinean midfielder, will join Hungary’s Ferencváros on a one-year loan starting next month.
Keïta's time at Werder Bremen, where he signed in June 2023 after leaving Liverpool, was marked by injuries and limited appearances, playing only five matches.
In April 2024, Keïta was suspended by Bremen after reportedly refusing to travel for a Bundesliga game when not included in the starting lineup.
Bremen’s managing director for sport, Clemens Fritz, confirmed that Keïta would not play for the club again and called the loan the best solution for all parties involved.
Ferencváros, a Europa League participant, will now host Keïta as he seeks to revive his career following a challenging period in Germany.
