Overview
- City Police Commissioner Seema Latkar announced Friday that a phased deployment will put 5,161 civil and traffic officers on duty with 33 KSRP platoons, 25 CAR and DAR platoons, 24 anti-sabotage teams and 1,500 Home Guards.
- Authorities have assigned 28 ambulances and 32 fire and rescue teams and will manage traffic routes so emergency vehicles can reach hospitals quickly during processions and events.
- Surveillance will use drones plus the city’s roughly 35,794 public and commercial CCTV cameras with extra cameras installed at the Palace, Bannimantap and Jamboo Savari route and 20 social-media monitoring teams of 58 staff will work round the clock.
- Mysuru City Police and the municipal corporation have identified 92 old or unsafe buildings on the Jamboo Savari route, issued notices to owners, banned public climbing of buildings and trees, and set up 18 police help desks and a bilingual visitor portal with QR access.
- The measures aim to reduce crowd risks, speed responses to accidents or fires, and limit panic from rumours by directing people to the 112 emergency helpline; officials will carry out surprise inspections and enforce rules during the Oct 11–21 festival.
