Mysuru Dasara Drone Trial Claims Guinness Mark With 2,983-Drone Tiger

Organisers cite external certification with technical vetting during the Sept. 28 test as public shows approach on Oct. 1–2.

Overview

  • The trial at Bannimantap’s Torchlight Parade Ground formed a tiger with 2,983 drones, surpassing the earlier 1,985-drone benchmark, according to CESC.
  • About 3,000 drones lifted off to render multiple images, with the record entry specifically citing 2,983 units for the tiger formation.
  • CESC says a London-based certification team observed the attempt, with aeronautical engineers, auditors and legal advisers vetting the process.
  • Another trial was slated for Sept. 29, with full public displays scheduled for Oct. 1–2 at the same Mysuru venue.
  • This year’s production scaled up from roughly 1,500 drones in 2024 and showcased cultural, religious and state symbols, with BotLab Dynamics executing the show and singer Kunal Ganjawala performing beforehand.
