Mysuru Dasara Drone Show Sets Guinness Record With 2,983-Drone Tiger

The feat came in a CESC-run trial display during Dasara after a scale-up to roughly 3,000 drones, with additional shows slated for Oct. 1–2.

Overview

  • Guinness officials certified the tiger formation created with 2,983 drones during the Sept. 28 trial at the Torchlight Parade Ground in Bannimantap, Mysuru.
  • Delhi-based BotLab Dynamics executed the show, launching the fleet from St. Philomena’s College Grounds for a 25-minute run from 8:45 pm to 9:08 pm.
  • The presentation expanded last year’s 1,500-drone effort to about 3,000, surpassing the previous animal-image record of 1,985 drones.
  • CESC says the record attempt followed formal procedures that included a certification team from London and vetting by aeronautical engineers, auditors and legal experts.
  • Thousands attended the spectacle featuring cultural, patriotic and regional motifs such as Goddess Chamundeshwari, an Ambari elephant, Lord Krishna, Mother Cauvery and a Karnataka map with state leaders, with long waits and post-event traffic reported.
