Mysterious Drone Swarms Disrupt US Military Bases

For 17 days, unidentified drones flew over Air Force Base, raising national security concerns without any immediate resolution.

The drones, some 20 feet long and flying at over 100 mph, appeared nightly over Langley Air Force Base in December 2023.
Despite having the authority, base commanders did not shoot down the drones due to legal restrictions unless an imminent threat was posed.
The swarms also targeted other sensitive sites, including the Nevada Nuclear Security Site, prompting investigations by the Defense Department and FBI.
Officials suspect foreign involvement, possibly from China or Russia, but have not confirmed the origin or intent of the drone operators.
The incidents led to the cancellation of nighttime training missions and relocation of F-22 jets, highlighting vulnerabilities in US air defenses.
