• On May 29, 2025, first responders found Gunner Hyatt unresponsive at his Mount Carmel, Illinois, home and he was pronounced dead at the scene.
• Wabash County Coroner Shaun Keepes reported preliminary findings consistent with suffocation due to inhaled helium from a large Mylar balloon.
• The final cause of death is pending the results of toxicology and additional testing.
• Mount Carmel Police and the Illinois State Police Child Death Task Force are investigating the circumstances of the accident.
