My Hero Academia: Vigilantes Debuts as a Dark Prequel to the Iconic Series

My Hero Academia: Vigilantes, a spin-off set five years before the main series, premiered on April 7, 2025, on Crunchyroll.
The series introduces Koichi Haimawari, a college student with a modest quirk, who becomes a vigilante hero in a less structured hero society.
Produced by Studio Bones, the anime is directed by Kenichi Suzuki, with scripts by Yosuke Kuroda and character designs overseen by Takahiko Yoshida.
The 13-episode series will release weekly, streaming internationally in Japanese with English subtitles, though no English dub has been announced yet.
Original creator Kohei Horikoshi celebrated the premiere with special promotional art, highlighting the series' darker tone and connections to pro heroes like All Might and Eraser Head.
