• At MetLife Stadium on August 9 the band performed The Black Parade in full, featuring large-scale pyrotechnics, narrative characters, and a secondary B-stage set of hits and deep cuts.
• Belleville Mayor Michael Melham surprised the group onstage by presenting them with the town’s first-ever key to the city.
• The band reciprocated the honor by gifting the mayor a bundle of wheat and a fish from Draag, the fictional realm in their Black Parade mythology.
• They closed the night with a cover of Bon Jovi’s “Livin’ on a Prayer,” which frontman Gerard Way hailed as the state’s unofficial anthem and invited fans to sing along.
• The Long Live The Black Parade stadium tour continues through North America with a stop in Philadelphia and teased international dates to follow.
