MVD Warns of Fake ‘Gosuslugi’ Messages, Lists Red Flags

The police cyber unit issued guidance that identifies the only valid sender IDs and hotlines and instructs users not to call back or follow links.

Overview

  • Scammers send texts posing as the Gosuslugi portal to prompt victims to phone them and disclose personal data, according to the Interior Ministry and Obyasnyaem.rf.
  • Authentic notifications arrive only from the short code 0919 or the alphanumeric sender ID gosuslugi, making other numbers a sign of a fake.
  • Official services do not contact users via WhatsApp, Telegram or other messengers, so messages in those apps claiming to be from Gosuslugi are fraudulent.
  • Gosuslugi never includes login or data-confirmation links in messages, and scams often use urgency, threats about account breaches and spelling mistakes.
  • Users are advised not to call numbers or tap links in suspicious texts, to block the sender and to report via site feedback, the hotlines 8 (800) 100-70-10 or 115, or to police if harmed.
