MV Confederation Set to Resume P.E.I.-N. Ferry Service in December

The ferry is expected to return to service on December 6 following ahead-of-schedule repairs to its damaged bow visor.

After a collision with a wharf on September 15, repairs to the MV Confederation are anticipated to be completed by December 3.
Northumberland Ferries Ltd. confirmed that mechanical failure was not a factor in the collision, and the investigation is ongoing.
The ferry will operate four daily round trips between Caribou, N.S., and Wood Islands, P.E.I., until the season ends on December 20.
Service has been disrupted for over two months, exacerbated by the MV Saaremaa's engine issues and subsequent return to its Quebec owner.
A new ferry purchased by Transport Canada, the MV Fanafjord, is expected to replace the Saaremaa next season.
