MusiCares Gala to Honor Grateful Dead with Star-Studded Tribute

The January 31 event will feature performances by Dead & Company, John Mayer, Vampire Weekend, and others while raising funds for wildfire relief efforts.

The 2025 MusiCares Persons of the Year Gala will honor the Grateful Dead, marking the first time the award is posthumously given to founding members Jerry Garcia and Phil Lesh.
An extensive lineup of performers includes Dead & Company, Dave Matthews, Noah Kahan, Mick Fleetwood, Norah Jones, Maren Morris, Vampire Weekend, and more.
The event will take place at the Los Angeles Convention Center on January 31, two days before the Grammy Awards broadcast.
Funds raised during the gala will support music professionals impacted by recent Los Angeles wildfires, including assistance with relocation, instrument replacement, and other needs.
Andy Cohen will host the evening, with comedian Bert Kreischer presenting, in what is expected to be a poignant tribute to the band's legacy and its late members.
