Music World Mourns Death of Pogues' Shane MacGowan

Bruce Springsteen and U2 Pay Tribute, Latter Covers 'A Rainy Day in Soho' in Honor of Late Singer

Shane MacGowan, frontman of the Pogues, died at the age of 65.
Bruce Springsteen paid tribute to MacGowan, praising him as one of his favorite songwriters and predicting his music will be sung 100 years from now.
U2 honored MacGowan by covering the Pogues' song 'A Rainy Day in Soho' during their Las Vegas residency.
Bono altered the lyrics of the song to reflect MacGowan's death, singing 'McGowan's song is never over, but we may never find out what it means.'
Bono had previously performed 'A Rainy Day in Soho' with Johnny Depp at MacGowan's 60th birthday party in Dublin in 2018.
