Music Maestro Ustad Rashid Khan Dies at 55

The renowned classical singer succumbs to prostate cancer, leaving the music fraternity in mourning.

Music maestro Ustad Rashid Khan passed away at the age of 55 after a prolonged battle with prostate cancer.
He was undergoing treatment at a Kolkata-based hospital and his health deteriorated following a cerebral attack last month.
Khan belonged to the 'Rampur-Sahaswan Gharana' and was the great-grandson of gharana founder Inayat Hussain Khan.
Emotional tributes are pouring in from the music industry, including from Sonu Nigam, Harshdeep Kaur, and Vishal Dadlani.
West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee announced that Khan will be given a gun salute and state honours before his last rites are performed.
