Music Industry Leader Dick Asher Passes Away at 92

Asher, known for his roles at PolyGram and Columbia Records, was a key figure in the fight against payola in the 1980s.

Dick Asher's career spanned over four decades, working with artists like Bruce Springsteen, Michael Jackson, and Bob Dylan.
He played a significant role in exposing and dismantling the payola network that controlled radio airplay.
Asher held top positions at CBS Records, Warner Communications, and PolyGram, contributing to numerous successful albums.
He later became an original director for Electronic Arts and an affiliate professor at Florida Atlantic University.
Asher is survived by his wife, Sheila, his son, Jeffrey, four grandchildren, and one great-granddaughter.
