The Germany international fractured his fibula and dislocated his ankle in July at the Club World Cup after a collision with Gianluigi Donnarumma.
He rejoined parts of first-team training before the winter break, with initial minutes expected at some stage in January.
Bayern lead the Bundesliga by nine points and restart their campaign at home to Wolfsburg on January 11.
