Overview
- The Museu Egipci inaugurated the new immersive installation on Tuesday, October 27, 2026, converting its former library reading room into a 4-by-3 metre space that runs a 12-minute 3D reconstruction of Iny’s life.
- The audiovisual experience was produced over two years by Matt History Content, Limmat Films, At Your Service Production and 119 Media and is presented by director Marc Chica.
- The exhibit sits alongside a traditional display of about 70 Sixth Dynasty pieces and is anchored by six fragments the museum acquired that helped reconstruct Iny’s funerary chapel.
- The reconstruction follows museum research showing Iny served three Sixth Dynasty pharaohs and led expeditions to places such as Byblos to bring cedar, silver and lapis lazuli to Egypt, scenes that appear in the immersive narrative.
- Museum leaders say the project is meant to put technology at the service of heritage to reach younger visitors, run for at least a year and serve as a model for future, research-based immersive presentations.
