Musetti Reaches Lyon Final After Dramatic Comeback

Overview

• Lorenzo Musetti beat Flavio Cobolli in the Lyon semifinal after losing the first set and saving four match points to close 7-5 in the third.
• Musetti reached the final following a prior three-and-a-half-hour quarterfinal and two late-night matches that tested his fitness and resolve.
• He will face Taylor Fritz in the Lyon final scheduled for Sunday, October 25 at 14:30, with bookmakers listing Fritz as the favorite.
• The result would be Musetti’s tenth ATP final and his first title opportunity since he won in Naples on October 23, 2022.
• Cobolli’s loss is seen as an untimely setback ahead of the season-ending events, and the Lyon outcome could influence Italy’s Davis Cup choices and players’ ATP Finals positioning.
