Overview
- The retrospective opens August 21 and runs through December 7 with around 480 objects drawn from both internal archives and external collections.
- A year-long collective curatorial process was led by a team of in-house curators alongside collaborators Wendy Cabrera Rubio, Pío Longo and APRDELESP.
- Restoration work on the museum’s original Jugendstil iron structure and historic features is scheduled for completion before the exhibition’s debut.
- Several galleries will be renamed to honor figures such as Elena Urrutia, Jorge Pantoja and José María ‘Chema’ Covarrubias in recognition of their contributions.
- The program also includes the Agentxs Chopo educational initiative for children, an opening concert by Astrid Hadad, a Macabro Filmoteca collaboration and commemorative publications through March 2026.
