Overview

  • Musashi will shutter its Hann. Münden and Leinefelde plants and scale back operations at the Lüchow site in Germany.
  • IG Metall estimates the cuts will affect about 250 jobs in Leinefelde, 170–200 in Hann. Münden and 130–170 in Lüchow.
  • The European division has lost roughly €100 million after tax following a 40% drop in regional revenue since 2018.
  • Sustained price pressure from Asian rivals, a weakening European vehicle market and reduced demand for driveline parts in electric vehicles have eroded its business.
  • The shutdowns and downsizing are scheduled for 2026, but no detailed timetable has been provided.
