Overview

• Murli Dhar Sharma, a 2005-batch IPS officer and former director of the Swami Vivekananda State Police Academy, will assume the Barrackpore CP post at the rank of Inspector General.
• Ajay Kumar Thakur, who took charge as CP in February, has been reassigned as Deputy Inspector General of the state Criminal Investigation Department.
• Smaraki Mahapatra has been given additional charge as Director of Environmental Studies and Wetland Management alongside her duties in the Food Processing Industries and Horticulture Department.
• P. Mohangandhi has been named Chairman and Managing Director of the West Bengal Mineral Development and Trading Corporation and will also serve as Secretary in the Industries, Commerce and Enterprises Department.
• Vaibhav Chaudhary, Additional District Magistrate of Purba Medinipur, will oversee the Jagannath Dham Trust’s Project Management Unit in Digha as its CEO.
