'Murder in Boston' Podcast and HBO Documentary Revisit Stuart Case

The 'Murder in Boston' podcast, launching Dec. 4, explores the lasting impact of the Stuart case, a racially charged murder investigation from 1989.
The podcast is hosted by Globe associate editor and columnist Adrian Walker, who was a reporter during the original investigation.
Matthew Stuart confessed in 1990 that he helped his brother Charles hide the gun used to murder Carol Stuart. Despite this, some involved in the original investigation still believe Willie Bennett, a Black man who was initially a suspect, was involved.
The podcast features interviews with residents of Mission Hill, a predominantly Black neighborhood that faced increased police scrutiny during the investigation.
Alongside the podcast, a three-part documentary by HBO, produced in association with The Boston Globe, also debuts Dec. 4.
