Overview

  • A plainclothes patrol stopped a high-powered 5 Series BMW on Ludwigstraße around 22:40 on Sunday after noticing suspicious driving.
  • During the check, the 18-year-old accelerated away, ran a red light through Maxvorstadt, and later scraped three parked cars on Lothstraße, leaving the BMW a total loss.
  • He abandoned the vehicle but left his mobile phone behind, allowing officers to identify him and arrest him at his home.
  • Police say he has no driving licence and was previously caught in January 2024, and he now faces reports for endangering road traffic and leaving the scene.
  • Officers noted drug-typical signs, took a blood sample after a negative breath test, and the traffic police are investigating the 42-year-old owner, with damage estimated at least €30,000.
