Munich Police Hunt Gunman After Unterhaching Edeka Robbery

Police now focus on a possible link to an earlier gas-station holdup.

Overview

  • A masked man entered the Edeka at the Sportpark around 20:00 on Saturday and threatened staff with a black long firearm.
  • He took cash from the register and the adjacent backshop, stealing more than €1,000 before fleeing on foot toward the Fasanenpark allotments.
  • No injuries were reported, and the store had no customers inside at the time.
  • A large search with numerous patrols did not find the suspect, and Kommissariat 21 of the Munich criminal police is leading the case.
  • Investigators released a description—male, about 1.75–1.80 m, black straight hair, grey beanie, dark green anorak, medical mask, black shoulder bag—and urged witnesses from Am Sportpark and Ludwig-Specht-Straße to contact police.
