Overview

  • On July 10, the SWM supervisory board granted approval to advance planning for the new Stäblibad at the former Bad Forstenrieder Park site.
  • The mid-double-digit million-euro project will replace the outdated 1976 hallenbad with multiple pools, children’s splash areas, a sauna, and a water slide.
  • Demolition of the existing facility is scheduled to begin in mid-2026 and wrap up by summer 2027, after clearance procedures.
  • Preparatory work will involve environmental assessments and detailed WWII munitions sweeps linked to the pool’s wartime anti-aircraft use.
  • Since April’s closure, SWM has secured alternative swimming venues for local schools and sports clubs to accommodate ongoing demand.
