• On June 28 at about 15:20 an anonymous caller alerted the Munich Fire Department to multiple fallen trees blocking the Auer Mühlbach in Thalkirchen and endangering swimmers seeking relief from the heat wave.
• Responders dispatched a command vehicle, a rescue fire engine, specialized divers and a Rüstwagen to assess the situation and secure the stream channel.
• Fire crews used chainsaws to trim protruding branches and winch operations to extract four storm-uprooted trunks measuring roughly 25 centimeters in diameter.
• Authorities attribute the blockage to trees uprooted during recent thunderstorms that became hazardous only when hot weather drove swimmers into the water.
