Munich's Mayor Dieter Reiter announced the city will not support hosting the Nations League Final Four tournament, citing insufficient financial and logistical resources.
The tournament, scheduled for June 4-8, 2025, was proposed to take place in Munich and Stuttgart if Germany qualifies by defeating Italy in the March quarterfinals.
Reiter emphasized that Munich would not allocate any funds or organize related events such as fan festivals, with key venues like the Olympia-Park already booked.
The decision follows a call from Bayern Munich CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen, though Reiter stated the city’s stance remains firm despite the outreach.
Germany's participation as a host nation depends on their success in the upcoming quarterfinal matches against Italy, with games set for March 20 and 23.
