Overview
- The A8 between Mühlhausen im Täle and Merklingen is closed toward Munich from Oct. 17 at 21:00 to Oct. 20 at 05:00 and again from Oct. 31 at 21:00 to Nov. 3 at 05:00.
- Autobahn GmbH cites extensive roadway, bridge and guardrail works for the A8 shutdowns, scheduling them on weekends to reduce peak-period disruption.
- For long-distance A8 traffic, a wide-area detour runs from the Weinsberg interchange via the A6 and A7 back to the A8; regional routes include B313/B10 via Ulm-West, with local options via B466/B10 (U29) and L1230 to Merklingen.
- The A9 Hilpoltstein exit toward Munich closes overnight on Monday, Oct. 20, from about 20:00 to 06:00 Tuesday, with traffic diverted at Allersberg via the signed U52 route; the on-ramp remains open.
- Following the A9 night closure, traffic will shift permanently from Tuesday morning onto the newly completed right carriageway past the Main–Danube Canal bridge, and drivers are urged to use only official detours and avoid town cut-throughs.
