Mumbai’s September Data Show Malaria Down, Dengue Up Slightly as BMC Expands Control Push

  • The BMC surveyed 1,032,249 houses, collected 185,863 blood slides, inspected 57,518 breeding sources, detected 3,691 Anopheles and 23,794 Aedes sites, and removed 61,802 discarded items.
  • Waterborne illnesses trended down, and the city ran 63 health camps, 5,341 workplace visits, fogging drives, and leptospirosis prophylaxis for 58,589 people, alongside public advisories to eliminate stagnant water and seek prompt care for fever.
