  • The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) launched a week-long cleanliness drive from March 17 to March 22, targeting the Western and Eastern Express Highways in Mumbai.
  • Overnight operations, from 10 PM to 6 AM, are designed to minimize traffic disruptions while addressing debris, garbage, and other waste across key stretches of the highways.
  • On the first day, 16.3 kilometers of roads were cleaned, resulting in the removal of 25 tons of debris, 4 tons of garbage, and 5.5 tons of other waste.
  • The initiative includes additional efforts such as repairing dividers, painting road signs, removing unauthorized hoardings, and addressing abandoned vehicles.
