Overview

  • The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has confirmed the June 15 public opening of the 7.5-kilometre promenade connecting Priyadarshini Park in Breach Candy to the Worli end of the Bandra-Worli Sea Link.
  • Designed for accessibility, the promenade includes 20 underpasses spaced every 400 metres, enabling seamless cross-access between the seafront and the opposite side of the road.
  • The project spans 17 hectares, with a 12-hectare promenade developed by the BMC and a 5-hectare central median beautified by Tata Sons, as part of a broader 70-hectare master plan by AECOM.
  • Approximately 70% of the promenade will feature green landscaping, with the remaining 30% allocated to paved walkways, cycling tracks, and public seating areas.
  • Reliance Industries is the recommended CSR partner for maintaining and enhancing the open spaces, pending final administrative approval from the BMC.
