- The 13.3 km bypass trims the Khopoli–Sinhgad Institute stretch from 19.8 km to 13.3 km, saving over 6 km and roughly 25–30 minutes.
- The corridor features two tunnels of 8.9 km and 1.7 km plus cable-stayed bridges of 840 m and 650 m, with the critical valley viaduct now complete.
- The tunnels are 23.30 m wide with four lanes and an emergency lane, and the Khopoli-bound side has been widened for expected traffic.
- Begun in 2019 at Rs 6,595 crore, the project overcame COVID-19 and heavy-rain delays, and together with Atal Setu is expected to bring Mumbai–Pune trips near 2.5 hours.
