Overview
- Railways Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw confirmed that installation of Overhead Electrification masts is advancing along the Mumbai–Ahmedabad corridor.
- More than 20,000 masts, each 9.5 to 14.5 metres tall, are planned to support a 2×25 kV traction system powering high-speed operations.
- OHE structures are being erected on elevated viaducts, forming critical infrastructure for reliable power delivery to the trains.
- A network of Traction Substations and Distribution Substations is under development to ensure uninterrupted traction power along the route.
- The 508-km project with 12 planned stations is being presented as strengthening domestic manufacturing under the Make in India initiative.
