Mumbai Union to Debut Yatri Mitra Autorickshaw App on July 15

It aims to give drivers a fair alternative to high-commission aggregators by charging a flat daily subscription fee.

Overview

  • The Seva Sarathi Autorickshaw Taxi and Transport Union’s Yatri Mitra app is in final beta tests ahead of its July 15 launch in Mumbai and Thane.
  • Commuters will use the app to book rides and pay fares based on electronic meter readings via cash or UPI.
  • Drivers will pay a ₹25 daily subscription fee and receive personal accident insurance coverage through the platform.
  • Metazen Labs Pvt Ltd built the app in partnership with the union to offer drivers a commission-free platform.
  • The union expects at least 10,000 autorickshaws to be enrolled at launch and will extend the service across the wider metropolitan region.
