Mumbai Teen Becomes Youngest Woman to Conquer Seven Summits

Kaamya Karthikeyan, a 17-year-old student, achieves historic feat by scaling the highest peaks on all seven continents.

Kaamya Karthikeyan, a Class 12 student from Navy Children School in Mumbai, has become the youngest woman to complete the Seven Summits Challenge.
She summited Mount Vinson in Antarctica on December 24, 2024, marking the final peak in her journey across seven continents.
The Seven Summits include Mount Everest (Asia), Mount Kilimanjaro (Africa), Mount Elbrus (Europe), Mount Kosciuszko (Australia), Mount Aconcagua (South America), Mount Denali (North America), and Mount Vinson (Antarctica).
Kaamya was accompanied by her father, Indian Navy Commander S. Karthikeyan, on her final climb in Antarctica.
Her accomplishment has been celebrated by the Indian Navy, her school, and national organizations, with recognition for her determination and early start in trekking at the age of seven.
